Child Care & Development Contractor Stipend Webinar
Wednesday, July 28, 2021, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM PDT
Category: Events

Greetings Child Care Partners,

The CDSS is hosting a webinar on the stipend distribution process for child care and development contractors on July 28th from 3 pm to 4 pm. Please use this link to register for the event.

Budget trailer bill language proposes that the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) use federal funds for per-child stipends to providers who are reimbursed through voucher and center-based child care subsidy programs. Stipends are meant to help providers with hardships caused by the pandemic such as reduced enrollment, increased teacher-to-child ratios, additional cleaning costs, and other costs.

Pending approval of the trailer bill language, providers who served children receiving subsidies from the following programs in March 2021 will be eligible for a $600 per-child stipend:

  • CalWORKS Stage One, Two (C2AP) and Three (C3AP)
  • Alternative Payment Programs (CAPP) including Migrant Alternative Payment Programs (CMAP)
  • General Child Care and Development Programs (CCTR)
  • Migrant Child Care and Development Programs (CMIG)
  • Family Child Care Home Education Network (CFCC)
  • Child Care and Development Services for Children with Special Needs (CHAN)
  • Emergency Child Care Bridge Program for Foster Children

If the trailer bill is signed, CDSS will contract with the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FoundationCCC) to distribute the $600 per-child stipends. During this webinar, the FoundationCCC will provide contractors with instructions on how they will be able to receive lump-sum payments in order to issue stipends to eligible providers.

Sincerely,
