Thriving Families CA Foundation will be delivering a virtual training focused specifically on fiscal issues on September 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This training is designed to provide attendees with practical information, guidance, and peer perspectives to strengthen fiscal knowledge and support effective fiscal management within their agencies.

Whether you work directly with fiscal responsibilities or want to better understand the fiscal side of program operations, this training will offer valuable information and an opportunity to learn from both state partners and peers in the field.

Fiscal Essentials
CDSS Fiscal Representatives

CDSS Fiscal representatives will present a variety of fiscal topics, from the basic to the advanced, affecting AP contractors. This workshop will present the basics for both CalWORKs Stages 2 and 3 and Alternative Payment (AP) contracts. A wide variety of topics will be covered including reporting requirements, revenue, expenses, apportionments, administrative and supportive services allowances, augmentations/reductions for CalWORKs, and requests for AP contingency funds. CDSS will also discuss how CalWORKs fiscal and caseload report data are used. Whether the attendee is new to the agency or a seasoned accountant, everyone will benefit from this session.

Hear directly from fellow agencies about their approaches to fiscal projections. Panelists will share practical strategies, lessons learned, and best practices for developing and using projections to support planning, decision-making, and fiscal stability.

Q&A Session

We will leave time at the end of the training for you to get your fiscal questions answered. This session will provide attendees the opportunity to get their questions answered, learn more about the topic as it relates to their circumstances and to get clarification. We ask that you submit your questions ahead of time so that we can plan this session and make it a valuable opportunity that will allow attendees to deepen their understanding of a specific topic.
